By definition, all Farm To Market (FM) roads are state owned and maintained. State maintenance on FM 2769 ends about 1/4 mile before it reaches Lime Creek Road, about where the new Ray Vista Street intersects. So just what IS the remaining segment if not FM 2769? It depends on how you look at it or who you ask. Some have claimed that it is really Lime Creek Road or just "Volente Road"). However, the street addresses for the homes and businesses on this segment are for FM 2769 and that is common usage, so just go with it. Just don't call TXDOT for maintenance on that portion; the Village of Volente has that responsibility!
