VJs was originally known as Spradleys. In 1963, the store was purchased by the uncle of the current owner, Bob Freeman, along with a partner.
The partner  was Vernon Vogt, Bob's uncle was John Nicholson- thus VJs!
Bob and his lovely wife Dianna have owned and operated VJs for 14-15 years now.
VJs is Volente's only store and is the favorite hangout of locals. Bob and Dianna are big supporters of Volente and the Volente fire department.
VJs has a restaurant with a beer and wine license.
VJs is open Tuesday through Saturday.
