Travis County Floodplain Permit Note for structure below 723msl:

By law, the minimum finished floor elevation (FFE) of any habitable structure on Lake Travis must be at least one foot above the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) floodplain of 716 feet above mean sea level (msl). A recent U.S. Army Corps of Engineers/Lower Colorado River Authority study indicates that the actual floodplain elevation is 6 feet higher, or 722 msl. While FEMA has not adopted this new elevation, it is recommended that new habitable structures have a FFE of at least 723 msl. By accepting this permit and constructing a structure with a FFE less than 723 msl, you acknowledge the potential for flooding indicated by the study, choose not to follow this recommendation, and thereby relieve Travis County of liability for damage to the structure or its contents, or any other liability, arising from actual or potential flooding above 716msl.
