VNA BOARD MEETING SEPTEMBER 4, 2007
Meeting called to order at 7:05 by President Ken Beck. Members present: Ken Beck, Connie Curtiss, Ryan Janda, Jessica Janda, Judi Graci, John Schlotzhauer.
ROADWAYS AND SAFETY: Ryan had to leave meeting early, so we began with this subject. RJ mentioned new guardrails being installed in the area. He also mentioned a study being done on low lying/flood prone roads. He also said that the projected completion of the 2769 roadwork has been extended due to poor weather. A discussion followed concerning all these road issues.
WATER LINE THROUGH VOLENTE: KB asked the Board what our collective thoughts were concerning this issue, and how we might present a united front on this issue. Board discussed all possibilites, and agreed that none of us want a water line/pump in any residential areas. Board also discussed the VOV role in this issue. KB stated that he has been working with elected officials concerning the water issue, and will continue doing so. Furter discussion on possible solutions were presented.
SECRETARY REPORT: accepted as read.
TREASURER REPORT: Will be done next month, as Treasurer AD was not present.
LAKE TRAVIS: Lake is at 682.5' and probably rising due to more rain. The temperature is 85 degrees.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT; JS suggested that he do some research on the water issue, and people involved in it for the newsletter. He also stated that the sale of The Dodd Street Docks is pending and no further info on this is available at this time.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS: JJ wants newsletter articles by this Friday, Sept. 7th. Contents include: letter from our president, water update from JG, Pancake Breakfast, Roadway update, Grandview Hills Elementary School updte, and possibly an article about a storm chaser.
MAIL REVIEW: There will be a Benefit Concert Saturday September 15, 2007 from 4:00 to 11:00 pm at the Volente Beach for Brandon Byers......
KB talked about a neighborhood packet for new Volente residents. There would be information for lots of business and info on Volente itself. Board agreed to support this project.
