VNA BOARD MEETING JUNE 7, 2005

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm. Members present: Susan Breyer, Elaine
DeMichielli, Al Graci, Connie Curtiss, Al Blunt, John Schlotzhauer and Mary
Pomplun.

SECRETARY'S REPORT: minutes appproved as read.

TREASURER'S REPORT: The beginning and ending balance for the month was the
same at: $3,901.73. Report was approved as read.

LAKE TRAVIS: AG discussed with the board the flood plans of the LCRA, and how
this change will affect us. Stated that 700 structures will be affected. SB
said that Volente has a fire boat for possible fires close to the water. AB
mentioned the upcoming meeting of the Protect Lake Travis Association. It
meets Saturday June 18th at 1:00pm at precint 2 bldg. by Mansfield Dam.

BUSINESS AND DEVELOPMENT: JS said he will write an article for the newsletter
about the Grason-Volente Development Co.
Discussion on this ensued.

MEMBERSHIP: SB said we have 83 family memberships, 15 outside the 78641 area.S
She said that member Clarisse Roech has passed away.

ROADWAYS: AB said the assistant fire chief of Volente is looking into paving
the lower part of Bullick Hollow. AB will write a letter to the mayor about
the condition of the trees overhanging 2769, and the potential problems
created by this overhang. Discussed the paving on Lime Creek Rd., especially
the shoulders and bad guardrails, and how they need to be taken care of soon.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS: Newsletter: ED asked Board members to send her their
articles. The letter will be out sometime in July. Discussed how to appeal
to all the people in greater Volente.

Board discussed possibility of having a garage sale thhis fall. Also
discussed a get to know your neighbor picnic.

Safe Haven: AB will talke to David Gomez as to where we can drop off articles
for their place.

Bulletin Board: we need a new volunteer to take card of the bulletin board on
weekly basis.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS: VNA website cost is $275 per year. Motion was made to pay
Lonnie Moore this amount. Thanks Lonnie, again, for all the great work you do
for Volente!!!!!

Next Board meeting will have to be rescheduled as first Tuesday is July 4th.
AB suggested Board members let others know if they're going out of town around
meeting time.
