MAY 3, 2005 VNA BOARD MEETING


Meeting was called to order by acting President Ken Beck at 7:08 pm.
Members present: Ken Beck, Connie Curtiss, Mary Pomplun, Susan Breyer,
Glen Radtke, and new members: (Elaine) DeMichielli and John (Schlotzhauer).

Members absent: Al Blunt and Al Graci.

KB described aall the positions that were open to be filled this year.

MP explained more about the newsletter and suggested
we make it an electronic one. The Board will continue to discuss this
issue.

KB discussed the role the VNA plays in our community, and the importance
it has to those living outside the VOV. It encompassed an area that goes
from Bullick Hollow to Lime Creek Road and on up 2769 towards Dies Ranch Road.

Board discussed importance of having minutes of the annual meeting put
into the file for meetings. MP and CC will put this together.

SECRETARY'S REPORT: no report in April, no quorum.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Beginning balance of $3481.73 , and with new deposits
and expenditures, a closing balance of $3901.73.

MEMBERSHIP: 88 total family memberships paid with 18 of those being
outside the 78641 zip code.

Board discussed ways to increase the membership. Perhaps adding more
people to the the list and increasing the interest in the newsletter. Explanation
of fact that the VNA is way to help those not in the VOV.
KB share the Commanche newsletter as an example of a good format. A
discussion of the information in this newsletter followed, and how the
new construction and building will affect us . Discussion of possible Wal
Mart held as well as review of commercial development across street from the
Oasis. The hearing for Wal Mart's request for a building exception was
held Tuesday May 3rd at the City of Austin.

Discussion of signs at foot of Bullick Hollow, and how they will be
removed by Travis County by next week.

New member JS bought up the Grason Volente Co. and how they are dealing
with their sewage runoff. KB suggested that EM check with VOV in regards to
this project.

KB discussed the future meeting agendas and how each chairman will make a
report to the Board. MP added that each chairman will be responsible for
any news for the newsletter, and writing their own articles.
