VNA BOARD MEETING MARCH 1, 2005
Meeting was called to order at 7:08pm. Members present: Susan Breyer,
Al
Blunt, Connie Curtiss, Al Graci, Mario Guzman, Mary Pomplun and Glen
Radtke.
SECRETARY'S REPORT: Accepted with correction of trash day sliding one
day, only on Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Year.
TREASURER'S REPORT: Deposits of $165 with and ending balance of $3,494.46.
LAKE TRAVIS COMMITTEE: no new information. The lake continues to rise
due to recent rains.
BUSINESS AND DEVELOPMENT: no new information.
MEMBERSHIP: 78 paid VNA members with 18 outside the 78641 zip code.
ROADWAYS AND SAFETY: no new information.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS: Newsletter: MP said she wants articles for the
upcoming newsletter by March 24th. Articles to appear include: VNA
Annual Meeting, VNA Firehall Open House (these articles will be written by
AB).
A further history of Volente by Joy Haynie, a list of candidates running for
the VNA Board, and small amended changes in the by-laws.
A discussion of these changes will be presented at the annual meeting.
In regards to the Charity Project, after further discussion the board
decided to support Safe Haven as our project. We will ask David Gomez to attend
the Annual Meeting to talk about what they'll need and what their organization
does.
The Volent Firehall open house will be held on April 9, 2005 from 2pm
to
5pm. The annual VNA meeting will be held on the same day and will start
at 5pm. Speakers will be from the Wildlife Forest Group and David Gomez from
Safe Haven. AB will send out a tentative agenda for this meeting.
The Board discussed bar-b-que choices, and a decision will be made soon.
Board members have also volunteered to work in the kitchen.
Discussion of street signs was held. Scott Graci and his troop have been
doing job distributing and putting in these signs.
MP said that the annual financial report is due to be presented at the
annual meeting. GR said we need to keep all reports, checks and receipts for
future possible audits. AG said he would look into a sales tax number for
the
VNA.
