VNA BOARD MEETING DECEMBER 7, 2004
Meeting called to order at 7:10 pm. Members present: Mary Pomplun, Susan Breyer, Connie Curtiss, Al Blunt, Bob Mott, Mario Guzman.
SECRETARY'S REPORT: accepted as read.
TREASURER'S REPORT: no change. Balance of $3123.45.
LAKE TRAVIS: no report
BUSINESS AND DEVELOPMENT: no new business
MEMBERSHIP: 77 paid VNA members, 21 live outside 78641 zip code.
ROADWAYS: no new information. MG talked about and discussed with
Board the bad state of the road signs in the area.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS: Board discussed pros and cons of various charitable projects. Discussion about possibility of working with organizations that help the homeless. CC offered to call Austin Recovery Center to see if they would send a representative to speak to Board about their organization.
AB has sent a second letter to Mayor Jan Yenawine about Cafe Bleu. He has hot heard from Jan and will continue to pursue this issue.
Mail review: mail contained info on new projects and commercial building in the area.
New board members: Board discussed possibility of new members.
AB discussed possibility of VNA purchasing writing pens. MP made a motion we buy these pens to hand out free to VNA paid members. SB seconded motion. Board passed motion.
NEWSLETTER: MP talked about December newletter with articles due her on or before December 16th. She plans to mail newsletters on the 28th. Articles to be included are: Lonnie Moore on new house signs; SB on membership and form updates; AB with holiday greetings and discussion of Board nominations. Further discussion was led by MP about the newsletter expenses and mailing processes. Also included in the articles will be an article by M. Haynie about the Anderson Mill.
