VNA BOARD MEETING
NOVEMBER 2, 2004
> Meeting was called to order by President Al Blunt at 7:13pm

> Members present: Connie Curtiss, Al Blunt, Ken Beck, Mario Guzman, Susan
> Breyer and Mary Pomplun. The meeting was held at the Crossings, thanks
to
> Ken Beck's hospitality.

> Secretary's report: no report this month, as there was no meeting in
> October.
>
> Treasurer's report: MP reported that our balance is $3,123.45. Expenses
> included a check to BOA and one to Lonnie Moore for the newsletter
> printing.
>
> Lake Travis committee: KB stated he was the only volunteer for the
> Volente park cleanup which was part of the Lake Travis water and land clean
up
> project. It was also noted that Lake Travis continues to rise.
>
> Business and Development: no report this month. No report on the charity
> project either.
>
> Membership Committee: SB said there were no changes in the membership.
>
> Roadways: MG stated there was no progess reported concerning roads in
> this area. AB talked with Don Ward, division manager for roads and bridges
in
> Travis county, and he said the county would gladly replace and put up new
> street signs in this area. MG will be in touch with Mr. Ward.
>
> Community Relations: AB stated that Cafe Bleu has closed for the season.
> He further stated that he received no letter from Mayor Jan Yenawine
> concerning the letter we the board have sent to VOV. He will continue to
pursue this
> with the mayor until he receives a response.

> AB reviewed community mail with the board and none of these letters apply
> to the greater Volente area.

> AB talked with Chuck Schafer about the coyote problem. Mr. Schafer
> suggested
> residents who see a coyote call Town Lake Animal Shelter at 972-6000 or
> 750-6545 (this is Chuck's number). Also there is a website for other info
> concerning the coyote problem:
> mountainneighborhood.com/news/coyote_wanted.html. MP suggested putting
> this info on the Volente website, as well as the newsletter.

> Further discussion about street signs for Volente residents was held.
> Board discussed having uniform signs for each house and ones that would
be
> convenient and reasonable to install.

> Newsletter: MP said we will probably print the next newsletter at the
> first of next year.

> New Board members: AB stated it is important that we fine new board
> members. We have a vacancy of two.

> Discussion was held on a place for the master file of previous and future
> VNA board meeting reports.

> SB discussed the VOV council's planning and zoning ordinance, and fact
> that they have completed this work.
