GUEST ISSUES
Lee Bass talked about the land that John Shipley and Rich
Barrick
own. She wanted us to be aware of all of the property the
LCRA owns in regard to right of ways and the possible
incursion of commercial property buying these rights of
ways. The LCRA contact is Susan Eschenburg at 473-3333
x7541. Lee asked VNA to let LCRA know that the residents
in the greater Volente area could be concerned about this.
WT suggested a letter or phone call be made to gain
further info about this issue. Also what has/will happen
to this particular piece of property.
Joy Haynie wants to buy flags for Volente residents to fly
on Memorial Day and 4th of July. Board has no say on this
, and we suggested she contact VOV.
WT said the Forest Service of Texas is presenting Travis
County "Wildfire Awareness Week" March 27 to April 3,
2004. More meetings for this event are being planned. He
said we need someone to coordinate the info about this
event for the Volente residents. KB said he would contact
the forest service rep. to get more info to pass along to
others.
SECRETARY'S REPORT: Approved as read.
TREASURER'S REPORT: BM said there were 50 paid members
and $3820.43 in the treasury. Approved as read.
LAKE TRAVIS: no new info
BUSINESS AND DEVELOPMENT: KB said he had called DOT re
the Sunlit Cove Development, but there was no response. We believe it is a
completion of Geronimo St. as originally platted. There is concern re the
entrance and exits onto a blind curve on 2769.
Board discussed the cutting of trees on 2769 by the
TwinCreeks golf course. No further info on that.
MEMBERSHIP: SB said 27 of the paid members lived outside
the local zip.
ROADWAYS: Discussed signs at end of Bullick Hollow, no
further action at this time.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS: NEWSLETTER: Mary Pomplun, who could
not be present at meeting, told AB that articles for the
next newsletter should be in by March 12th. BS will do a
membership
form for the letter, J. Haynie a history of Volente, Scott
Crosset a report on Commanche Canyon Ranch, SB a voting
ballot for next board. Agenda and topics of annual
meeting on April 1st will be in newsletter. WT will
write about wildfire event and AB about utilizing the web
site. ROAD CONSTRUCTION: no info.
Annual meeting will be on April 1, 2004, starting at 6:00
pm.
SC is in charge of the food, and it will be bar-b-que like
last year. AB said Gerald Daugherty has accepted as a
speaker. We plan also to have Jan Yenawine and a rep from
the TX Forest
Service. Board discussed the agenda structure. WT said
we should have a ballot box set up for people who might
want to vote early for board members. Board approved.
