VOLENTE NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
BOARD MEETING
JULY 1, 2003

SECRETARY’S REPORT:
Approved as read and amended.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
Bob Mott, Treasurer, was absent but sent word that there is $3,074.35 in the treasury and 99 paid members.

LAKE TRAVIS COMMITTEE:
AL Blunt, David Springer and Tom Ashcraft attended a meeting with LCRA regarding the noise problem at Cafe Bleu. After a lengthy discussion concerning the permit as well as the attached document from the VNA, it was clear that LCRA understood our situation but that there was little they could do because of the location of the Cafe. AB stated that LCRA would respond to our letter of May 28, 2003, and upon receipt of this letter, he would share it with the Board. The subject was discussed at great lengths.

Lake Cleanup: Chairman AB stated cleanup went very well thanks to Chandler Pomplun, Alan Breyer, Walt Thompson and all the other Volente folks who so willingly pitched in and helped to make this project a success.

BUSINESS-DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Chairman Scott Crossett was absent. No business was discussed.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Chairwoman Susan Breyer stated that 64 households were paid VNA members. The Board discussed when most members paid their dues during the year. She will compare the treasurer’s list with the membership list to get an accurate reading of the membership.

ROADWAYS-SAFETY-COMMON AREAS COMMITTEE
AB reported that he had sent thank you letters to county engineers for road work recently completed in the area. He will continue to work with the engineers regarding Lime Creek Road. Discussion ensued concerning which parts of Lime Creek Road are VOV's responsibility and which are the county’s.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMITTEE
The bulletin board non-use was discussed. WT suggested posting the bulletin board guidelines on the board so people will know what they can and cannot put up. This was approved by the board.

Next community issue concerned the VOV survey. General discussion about this took place.

The VNA Newsletter will be coordinated by MP and sent to Lonnie Moore to be put together. A discussion followed about possible articles for the newsletter. Suggestions were: bulletin board information, the opening of The Crossings in September, Lake Travis cleanup and other items of interest. The Board plans to make this a quarterly newsletter. Date for items to go in the newsletter should be forwarded to MP by July 11th.

The Board also discussed the issue of legible house letters on each home to make identification for possible emergencies. WT stated this was probably a Volente Fire Dept. or an ESD responsibility.

AB stated that he will be away for the next meeting and the VP will be the acting president.

Motion to adjourn at 8:10PM.

Connie Curtiss, Secretary
