Lake Travis Committee: WT Chair
WT reviewed the status action regarding numerous complaints about loud music coming from of Café Bleu, which is prohibited by a VNA/Volente Group agreement. He advised the letter requesting LCRA assistance was sent to the Marina Permits Section, as directed by the VNA Board. Nan Bowen of LCRA forwarded the letter to LCRA legal section. The matter will be discussed by the LCRA staff this Friday. David Springer is now the VNA point of contact.

WT gave some background on Lake Travis cleanup. The annual cleanup is scheduled for June 14th from 8AM to 1200 noon. Travis County Park Ranger Dan Chapman suggested to WT the VNA could assist with any or all of the following: 1) Painting over the graffiti on Cypress Creek culvert. 2) Replacement of barbecue grills in Cypress Creek Park. 3) Campsites at Sandy Creek Park need a cleanup. Board suggestions for these issues included having the Volente auxiliary and the Ya Yas help, and putting info on Volente web site.

Private Dock ordinance: LCRA has postponed publication until early September so it can be approved by the new LCRA board. Any dock over 1500 square feet will be subject to the marina ordinance.

Business and Development: Scott Crossett Chair
No new business at this time.

Roadways and Safety: AB Chair
AB wants to send thank you notes to Travis County for the work on Bullick Hollow and 2769. The board agreed.; Apparently no work has been done on Lime Creek Rd. AB will follow up with Travis County.

Community Relations: Ken Beck Chair
The board decided to approve the use of the bulletin board to paid member of VNA to display business cards (businesses in Volente) and other business by private citizens. Business cards and 3x5 printed cards only. Motion was made by AB and seconded by SC.

VOV was contacted by SC, where he had an open dialogue with Jan Yenawine, VOV’s Mayor. Jan also invited VNA members to attend the village council meetings. Jan suggested that all residents in greater Volente area put numbers (street addresses) on front of their homes to identify them in case of an emergency.

Discussion about the signs at the bottom of Bullick Hollow resulted in the board deciding to drop the issue.

Animal report: no new info.

2003 Travis County Tax Appraisal:
The discussion was led by WT in regards to the property tax appraisals. He noted that a number of residents have found that TCAP has assigned a higher value to their homes-improvements than Williamson County, although the land values remained the same. WT talked to someone at TCAD who stated this was a mistake, and that TCAD should use the same value as WCAD. Board noted that residents should be encouraged to check their appraisal notices, and file the appropriate protest.

VNA Website:
Lonnie Moore visited the board meeting and discussed the format with us. Minutes should be posted within 10 calendar days, with a majority of members approving. There was a discussion of fees for website, and that VNA should pay this.

Discussed having place on website for VNA members to have a place to discuss and trade info.

MP said she would help organize the newsletter.

Meeting adjourned at 8:25 pm.

Connie Curtiss, Secretary
