Standing Committee Reports

· Lake Travis Committee: BK chair

No draft of private dock ordinance available yet. On January 10th, LCRA distributed the third and final draft of the Highland Lakes Dock Safety Standards. Written comments are requested by Feb. 19th. A fourth round of public meetings was announced. The meeting nearest Volente is at Precinct 2 Office Building on FM 620 near Mansfield Dam on Feb. 18th from 7-9 PM. Copies of the draft are available by contacting Gabrielle Ramirez at 473-3200 ext. 2309. The draft will be posted soon at www.LCRA.org.

· Business & Development Committee: WT chair

The VIP Marina was sold to the Lakeway Marina. This came from a Lakeway employee.

The new Beach Club parking lot up Lime Creek on the right was discussed. Board members felt that having the access point on Lime Creek was hazardous due to congestion at the intersection of Lime Creek and 2769. Access from 2769 would be better. The board decided not to take any additional action at this time other than putting its concern in the meeting minutes. WT will get more background.

· Membership Committee: EM chair

5 paid members so far for 2003 not counting 2 board members who paid at the meeting.

· Roadway and Safety: AB chair.

Navajo Pass Intersection - The State office sent an inspector to view the damage and flooding. The inspector promised that it would be fixed.

Lime Creek Turnout - The county-serviced turnout serving 5 homes beginning at 8504 Lime Creek Road (1.9 miles from the Beach Club on the left) washed out during the July flooding. Residents there are complaining their cars are scraping bottom. AB will call the county to get it repaired.

· Community Relations - LB chair

Bulletin Board Discussion - Both DS and WT reported that neighbors in the construction business have offered to build the bulletin board for cost of materials. Neither so far provided a cost estimate. DS and WT will ask for cost estimates.

Pet Alert - The VNA will continue to monitor reports of missing pets and pet casualties. A couple of county agencies have been notified. They asked that we keep a record, which we are doing, and check back in with them. Please continue to advise Al Blunt of any missing pets.

Newsletter - will be completed soon including incorporation election update by WT, LCRA cleanup by BK, missing pet update by AB, Balcones Preserve article by EM, bulletin board proposal by WT, and announcement of April 1st VNA general election and March 1st deadline for BOD candidates on the ballot by EM.

Volente Park Update - KB to contact Bulmaro Gonzalez to get an estimate on building a rock wall to prevent erosion.
