$3,993.96 (no change)
· Lake Travis Committee: BK chair
WT expressed a public health concern when the Highland Lakes Marina septic drain-field is underwater and water rides may still be operating at Volente Beach Club. DS suggested a notice of high bacteria count and boat hazards be posted on Volunteer Firehouse to remind residents and visitors of higher risks.
· Business & Development Committee: WT chair
Future Jackson Street Marina - Francois Denise (guest) attended to address questions about future Jackson Street Marina raised in last month's VNA board meeting. He confirmed VG is planning a 99-slip private, members-only Marina with no boat launch and no public access. He believes Jackson Street traffic impact will therefore be minimal and added that approval first requires a public hearing.
Cypress Creek Marina Construction - WT was called about what seemed to be the Marina expanding. WT inquired and found the Marina is replacing old docks with new and is not increasing the number of slips and has no expansion underway.
Annexation status - WT talked to COA council and was informed that COA would wait maximum possible length of time on annexation refusal. This makes first possible vote for incorporation of Volente some time in January 2003.
LPA Meeting - WT found COA reps available for public meeting at the Firehouse on August 27th.
Riviera Estates - information will be in next newsletter
· Membership Committee: EM chair
No report.
· Roadway and Safety: AB chair.
Lime Creek Road Repairs - Representative Margaret Moore toured LCR and noted that the shoulder needs repair.
Arrowhead Roadway Flooding - The Parkers (guests) attended to explain about a roadway-flooding problem across Arrowhead from a recently cleared residential lot and ask about possible remedies. WT said VNA would notify the county of the problem but VNA does not get between neighbors.
· Community Relations - LB chair
VNA newsletter delayed to next Wednesday.
Volente Park - July heavy rains caused much erosion of recently turned soil. A temporary silt fence or a permanent rock fence may be needed.
Bulk Mail Permit - WT motions to pay $150 to renew the permit,
EG seconds, all in favor.
