VNA to send letter to COA (WT) asking for delay in response to petition to annex so that community can be first informed of limited purpose annexation (LPA) due to overwhelming interest in it expressed in VNA general membership survey taken at April GM meeting. Geronimo Street trash pickup has been discontinued due to lack of place for trucks to turnaround. The trucks could damage private drives. LB met with a collection company representative and a resident to see if something could be worked out. LB also contacted the owner of Sunlit Cove to see if a turnaround could be located there. LB will continue to work towards a solution.
· Community Relations - LB chair, EM and AB members.
$50 approved for 3 signs to notify community of VNA meetings. LB to get
quotes.
Volente Park update: The park is coming along great. Several volunteers were
at the park to clear brush and rocks. There was a lot of hard work, some very
tired people, and a strong feeling of accomplishment. The flowerbeds have been
created around the trees and are ready for plants. June 1st is the stretch goal
for flowers in the beds. Grass needs to be planted as well. $300 is left authorized
to spend on the project.
Thanks to be sent to Margaret Moore and Ranger Dan for attendance at GM meeting, introduce them to new VNA board members, and invite them to fish fry.
Volente street cleanup turnout was disappointing. The next cleanup effort will be coordinated with perhaps another agency or event to increase participation.
