The two types of Knox-Box devices most commonly recommened for Volente are...

Two-position (key removable in ON and OFF positions) electric override key switch with mounting plate. Includes a lock cover to ensure weather resistant operation and an emergency agency ID label. Key switch is used for emergency access to gated driveways or communities. Can be mounted into a 2.25" deep weatherproof electrical box (about $8 at Lowe's) or into some gate keypads.
Item: KS3502. If your gate company is an authorized Knox distributor, you can order directly from them. If not, you can order through VVFD Auxiliary: Cost: $99.00, including shipping (key switch only). Mounting boxes, if needed, are available for $8 each. Resident is responsible for arranging and paying for the installation on their gate.

1650 Residential Knox-Box, Surface Mount Used for fire and medical emergency entry into single family residences and similar buildings. The box holds one or two keys and is also available with an optional door hanging bracket (fits doors up to 1-7/8 in. thick).
Cost: $175.00 ( with lift-off door) or $205.00 (with hinged door), including tax and shipping (key box only). Resident is responsible for arranging and paying for the installation.
