Water Treatment Plant 4; Christmas on BHR; Village Meeting

Just what was that drilling tower doing on BHR?

Drilling rig on Bullick Hollow Road Nov 2008That drilling tower seen on Bullick Hollow Road for several weeks was drilling test holes for a planned raw water intake for City of Austin. The City plans to install a pumping station at that approximate location with a 9-foot wide tunnel reaching into Lake Travis below the Oasis Restaurant (see aerial photo). The intake will have a capacity of drawing 300 million gallons per day (MGD) from Lake Travis.
The impacts of the construction and operation of the facility are concerns for area residents. See DELTA's website below for a list of some of the concerns raised.

Christmas Spirit Comes to Bullick Hollow

Tree decorated for Christmas on Bullick Hollow RoadThe jack-o-lanterns are gone, and in their place we see the Christmas elves have been at work along Bullick Hollow, decorating a number of cedar trees along the roadway.
Similar decorations can be seen along Capital of Texas Hwy and other roadways this year. It's a nice touch; our thanks to the anonymous individuals who take the time to share the spirit with the rest of us.
